Category: Cervical Cancer Management
Cervical cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women in our country mainly due to a lack of awareness regarding vaccination, screening, and treatment options. We now offer HPV (major cause ) vaccination to all females between 9 -25 years of age. Numerous screening techniques like Colposcopy, PAP smear, and HPV are now available which can detect these problems in early stages. Symptoms include postcoital bleeding, heavy menstrual cycles, and post-menopausal bleeding/discharge. Prompt diagnosis and management (surgery/ chemoradiation ) help achieve high cure rates even in advanced disease.
